A formal transfer of authority ceremony for the Greek contingent within the NATO-led KFOR mission took place today, May 4, 2026, at the KFOR headquarters in Camp Film City.
The ceremony was presided over by the KFOR Chief of Staff, Admiral Maximilian Clark, and attended by the Greek Ambassador to Kosovo, Heleni Vakali.
Recognition of Service
During the event, Admiral Clark praised the outgoing Greek unit for their exceptional professionalism and unwavering dedication to the mission’s objectives. He formally welcomed the incoming personnel who will take over the operational responsibilities of the contingent.
Awards and Honors
As a mark of gratitude for their significant contribution to regional security and stability in the Western Balkans, members of the departing Greek contingent were decorated with the NATO Article 5 Medal.
Greece remains a long-standing contributor to the KFOR mission, providing essential personnel and resources to ensure a safe and secure environment and freedom of movement for all communities in Kosovo.
