Special Envoy of U.S. President Donald Trump for Special Missions, Richard Grenell, has criticized the European Union, accusing The Hague Tribunal of political prosecution against former President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi.
On Wednesday, he responded to Ursula von der Leyen regarding her meetings in Kosovo with Albin Kurti and Vjosa Osmani, asking how the EU can give judicial advice to other countries while remaining silent about The Hague Tribunal.
“How can you give judicial advice to another country? You remained silent while Jack Smith arrested a sitting president just because he was on his way to meet Donald Trump to reach a peace deal that included dismantling Jack Smith’s position as a judge/prosecutor,” Grenell wrote on X.
He also criticized the media, saying it is shameful how they ignored this political criminal prosecution.
