Hamas has accepted a new ceasefire proposal for the Gaza Strip, mediated by U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff, Reuters reported on Monday, citing a Palestinian official close to the group, according to Rks News.

According to sources, the proposal includes the release of ten living Israeli hostages, split into two groups, in exchange for a 70-day ceasefire and the partial withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza.

In addition to the hostage release, the agreement also includes the release of hundreds of Palestinian prisoners, including those serving long sentences in Israeli prisons.

Israel has not yet issued an official comment on the development. The proposal is considered a significant step toward a potential end to the war in Gaza.
