PDK leader Bedri Hamza announced that he has positively responded to Prime Minister Albin Kurti’s invitation to discuss political developments and the process of electing Kosovo’s new President.
In a Facebook post, Hamza emphasized that as an opposition party, PDK has not been and will not be an obstacle to state processes, while also stating that it will not support candidates who fail to represent civic unity and constitutional spirit.
“The election of the President is not only a matter for one party, but for all of us as representatives of the people. For this reason, today I accepted Mr. Kurti’s invitation to discuss political developments and the process of electing the new President. As an opposition political party, we have not been and are not an obstacle to state processes, but we also do not support candidates who do not represent civic unity in accordance with the constitutional spirit,” Hamza wrote.
He added that institutional stability is vital and must be treated as such:
“I hope that those with constitutional responsibility to propose candidates will reflect and aim for broad support, avoiding short-term party calculations. For us, state interest is above any political calculation, and we defend this standard firmly,” Hamza concluded.
