Hand Grenade Found in Northern Kosovo

A hand grenade was discovered today in northern Kosovo, according to Rks News.

Construction workers reported the find to the Regional Police of the North, who immediately dispatched an EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) team to the scene for safe removal.

The incident was confirmed by Veton Berisha, spokesperson for the police in the Mitrovica North region.

“A hand grenade was found during roadwork on ‘John Kennedy’ Street in North Mitrovica. The demining teams have removed it,” Berisha said.

The EOD officers located the grenade near a trash container, removed it, and then conducted further inspections of the area using metal detectors.

After confirming that there was no additional threat, the police left the scene, assuring that there was no danger to citizens.
