Venezuela’s President, Nicolás Maduro, has been arrested and removed from Venezuela in a large-scale operation carried out by U.S. forces in the capital, Caracas, as announced by U.S. President Donald Trump. Maduro’s wife was also detained during the operation.
Trump shared images showing Maduro being transported to New York, where he is expected to face charges in a Manhattan court.
In the images, Maduro is seen with his hands tied and his eyes covered. The Venezuelan leader is accused of offenses related to drug trafficking and weapons.
