Daut Haradinaj, MP from AAK, speaking on Blic Interview with Astrit Gashi, commented on the recent meeting between Kosovo’s political leaders and President Vjosa Osmani, describing it as “a good photograph” for the country, despite the lack of immediate solutions. According to him, such a gathering may help orient the political positions of parties.

“The truth is that it’s better this meeting happened, no matter the outcome. When leaders sit at the same table, it’s a good and necessary image for Kosovo,” said Haradinaj. He praised the President’s initiative, but criticized Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti, calling his statement that “there’s no urgency” to constitute the Assembly disappointing.

“The behavior of the leader of the winning party is disappointing when he says there’s ‘no urgency’ for constituting the Assembly,” he stated, adding that AAK has shown willingness for compromise to reach a solution.
“We’ve compromised, we told them to find a unifying figure for the Assembly Speaker, even stepping beyond our own positions.”

Haradinaj emphasized that Kurti knows well he lacks the necessary numbers to form the government or lead the Assembly.

“Kurti knows very well that he doesn’t have the numbers, neither for the government nor the leadership of the Assembly,” said Haradinaj.

He concluded by saying that a more noble approach from Kurti would be to propose a new candidate for Speaker, allowing the leadership bodies to be elected swiftly.

“It would be much more noble if Kurti came out of the meeting with the President and proposed a new candidate for Speaker, so that within 24 hours—even in an extraordinary session—we could elect the Assembly’s leadership,” Haradinaj declared in Blic Interview.
