Ramush Haradinaj, the leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), issued a harsh critique of the outgoing government on International Workers’ Day, accusing it of failing to improve working conditions in both the public and private sectors.

“Responsible governments work to improve workers’ conditions. This government has done the opposite,” Haradinaj stated in a Facebook post.

He emphasized that Kosovo’s wages remain among the lowest in the region, with the minimum wage being more of an assistance payment than a livable income and the average salary barely covering basic living costs.

Haradinaj also criticized the lack of social dialogue, saying that instead of engaging with unions, the government has shown “contempt and arrogance.”

“Public employees are treated without dignity, while inflation continues to weigh heavily on citizens. Even on May 1st, we hear more rhetoric, see more emigration, and feel less hope.”

Concluding his message, Haradinaj extended a sincere wish for better days to all workers in Kosovo.
