Ramush Haradinaj, leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), has called on Kosovars in the diaspora to remain engaged and not neglect participation in the November 9 municipal election runoff.

In a social media post, Haradinaj expressed gratitude to the diaspora for its ongoing support for both AAK and Kosovo, acknowledging their crucial role during difficult times — including the trials in The Hague.

“I know that many of you have been deeply involved — both in the parliamentary elections in February and now in the local elections. You voted from abroad, contacted your families and friends, and even came to Kosovo to support the Alliance. Your loyalty is rare… Through the challenges of Hague 1, Hague 2, and others, you never left us alone,” Haradinaj wrote.

Call to Action for the November Runoff

Haradinaj urged citizens and diaspora members to stay active in the second round of local elections, stressing the importance of voter turnout:

“Do not neglect the importance of the runoff day. Vote from where you are if possible, talk to your families and friends in Kosovo, or come once again and vote here,” he emphasized.

Hinting at New Parliamentary Elections

The AAK leader also hinted that parliamentary elections could be held in December, suggesting that the political momentum is shifting and that his party is gaining strength once again, thanks in large part to the support and mobilization of the Kosovar diaspora.

“Let’s continue united like never before, because Kosovo is calling us,” Haradinaj concluded.

His remarks come amid increasing political uncertainty in Kosovo, as parties continue to negotiate possible coalitions and the formation of a new government remains unresolved.
