On the anniversary of the fall of 16 martyrs from the “Shkëlzen Haradinaj” Guard Battalion, the leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), Ramush Haradinaj, paid tribute in Gllogjan and Kodrali of Deçan, commemorating the sacrifice of these glorious fighters of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA).
Haradinaj recalled that on May 24, 1999, under the command of Abdyl Mushkolaj, the battalion stood out for its exceptional heroism and courage during the fierce battles in Dukagjini.
“Their bravery I witnessed firsthand on the warfronts. We are proud of the guardsmen, their battles, their valor and courage. We will forever remember those who, through their sacrifice and selflessness, lit our path to freedom,” Haradinaj said.
He honored the memory of the 16 fallen heroes:
Arton Mehmetaj, Fehmi Demiqi, Hajrush Demaj, Hysen Mehmeti, Islam Krasniqi, Liman Morina, Metë Krasniqi, Nuredin Gërvalla, Nazmi Gradina, Nimon Musaj, Naim Berisha, Përparim Ferizi, Sali Ferizi, Valiant Ferizi, Përparim Shala, and Xhavit Islami.
“Their memory and honor are eternal. Eternal glory to the martyrs of freedom!” he concluded.
