The leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), Ramush Haradinaj, has marked the 15th anniversary of the International Court of Justice’s advisory opinion on Kosovo’s independence, calling it one of the most significant milestones in the country’s path toward statehood.
In a post on Facebook, Haradinaj stated that on July 22, 2010, the ICJ legitimized Kosovo’s historic efforts and its right to statehood.
“It confirmed international justice in support of our ideal for freedom, realized on February 17, 2008. The road to this point was long, difficult, and filled with sacrifices across generations. But Kosovo endured, thanks to its people’s unwavering commitment to freedom, justice, and democracy,” he wrote.
Haradinaj emphasized that Kosovo’s unwavering orientation toward Western values and the Euro-Atlantic path must remain a national priority.
“Partnership with the United States of America and the European Union is the only way to realize our state’s aspirations,” he added.
