Ramush Haradinaj, leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), paid tribute to the victims of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks in the United States.
Haradinaj emphasized that the fate and existence of the Albanian people are closely tied to the U.S..
He recalled March 24, 1999, when the United States led NATO’s intervention in Kosovo, launching an air campaign against Serbian targets. According to him, this created a strong bond of blood and solidarity between Albanians and Americans.
Haradinaj added that on September 11, 2001, Albanians were deeply shocked by the terrorist attacks in the U.S., which claimed the lives of many innocent people, including some Albanians.
“This remembrance remains unforgettable, and Kosovo always stands with the families of the victims and with America,” Haradinaj said.
“Our fate, our life, our existence is linked with America. On March 24, 1999, when America led NATO’s intervention in Kosovo, initiating the air campaign against Serbian targets, it created a strong bond of life and blood between our people and America. We were shocked on September 11 by the terrorist attack in the U.S., with the loss of many innocent lives, including Albanians. Kosovo has previously established a modest memorial in honor of the 9/11 victims… This memory is unforgettable, and we stand with the families and with America.”
Other members of the AAK party also joined Haradinaj in paying tribute.
During the 9/11 attacks, approximately 3,000 people lost their lives, most of them civilians from over 70 different nationalities.
