Following his meeting with the President, Ramush Haradinaj, leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), stated that the main topic was the Assembly deadlock and ways to resolve the situation, Ekonomia Online reports.

Haradinaj highlighted President Osmani’s concern about the rapidly passing time and the lack of progress. He noted that after the Constitutional Court’s decision, there was hope for a return to open voting to achieve a consensual candidate.

He added that, despite the court’s ruling, the situation remains complicated, and it’s unclear how the current deadlock will be overcome.

“The topic was the deadlock in the Assembly and how to get out of it, even after the court’s decision. The President is concerned that time is moving fast, the deadline is 30 days, and she was interested in how Kosovo can get out of this situation. We had hoped that after the decision, VV would use the opportunity to return to open voting; we hoped that we would reach a consensual candidate, but we are stuck with this committee, which is wrong. For every vote that has not passed, it has not been reverted in the past; everything that has not passed in a vote has not been reverted. We are stuck, I don’t know how we will get out of this. We have stated our intentions to help the situation; we have asked for the practice of open voting and voting to be reinstated. A topic that was discussed is what happens after 30 days; the court has strongly reinforced its decision.”
