The leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), Ramush Haradinaj, stated after his meeting with President Vjosa Osmani that the head of state is expected to make a decision regarding the dissolution of parliament by November 5, in line with constitutional deadlines.
Haradinaj confirmed that the discussion with President Osmani focused on the possibility of new elections, as well as issues related to the state budget and the EU Development Fund.
“In today’s meeting, the President asked us to clarify whether we have a parliamentary majority to form a government. She also requested that we consider potential solutions concerning the budget and the EU’s development fund,” Haradinaj said.
According to him, it has become evident that parliamentary elections are unavoidable after the previous session failed to produce a new governing majority.
“The MP representing the so-called majority failed in the last session and asked for a few more days, but that request was not serious. The President has a constitutional deadline until November 5, and I believe that on that day we will receive the news that the parliament will be dissolved,” Haradinaj added.
He emphasized that holding elections as soon as possible would be in Kosovo’s best interest, suggesting December 7 as a potential date.
