Ramush Haradinaj, leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), has reacted to the Constitutional Court’s decision regarding the Assembly’s constitution, stating that a legal basis has now been established to break the ongoing deadlock.
AAK’s Stance and Call for Implementation
In a full statement, Haradinaj emphasized that the AAK sought recourse from the Constitutional Court not for partisan interests, but “for the interest of the country and the implementation of the will expressed by vote in the parliamentary elections of February 2025.” He highlighted that this request was not turned into a political issue, and the party refrained from public communication regarding its potential outcome to avoid interfering with the Court’s decision.
Haradinaj expressed relief that AAK’s request for interpretation and resolution was accepted by the Constitutional Court, which has now issued a decision, “creating a legal basis to emerge from the created deadlock.”
He concluded by urging all deputies, regardless of political affiliation, to implement this Constitutional Court decision and pave the way for the constitution of the Assembly and the creation of institutions resulting from the recent parliamentary elections.
