Ramush Haradinaj, leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), announced that consultations will be held between parliamentary group leaders and the session chair, Avni Deharin, ahead of today’s Parliament session regarding candidates for Kosovo Parliament Speaker.

Haradinaj stated that AAK could support other candidates from Vetëvendosje (VV), excluding Saranga Bogujevc and Shqipe Selimi, according to Reporteri.net.

Through Times, we will request a pre-session consultation with group leaders and the chair. If there is willingness, party leaders can discuss candidates to identify a unifying choice. Besides the names mentioned, there could be others who might receive our vote,” Haradinaj said.

He described the previous session’s proposal of Donika Gërvalla as a surprise, emphasizing the importance of prior information on candidates.

It is good to have advance notice of the candidate. In the previous session, it was a surprise. We cannot force VV to propose anyone, but it is good to discuss. There are many VV MPs we would have voted for,” Haradinaj noted.

He added that the party seeks a candidate who represents them effectively.
