Leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), Ramush Haradinaj, has called for support from U.S. President Donald Trump for Kosovo’s membership in NATO during his visit to the United States.

Haradinaj revealed the request through a social media post, stating that he raised the issue during a meeting with Republican Congressman Pete Sessions from Texas while visiting the U.S. Congress.

“During my visit to the U.S. Congress, I requested the support of President Trump and the U.S. Congress for Kosovo’s NATO membership. I addressed this issue in a meeting with Republican Congressman Pete Sessions,” Haradinaj wrote.

Kosovo’s potential accession to NATO remains a strategic objective for the country, as it seeks to strengthen its security framework, international partnerships, and regional stability. Continued backing from the United States is widely viewed as crucial in advancing Kosovo’s path toward membership in the alliance.
