The leader of AAK, Ramush Haradinaj, stated that July 1998 marks one of the most glorious chapters in Kosovo’s recent history—the Epic of Rahovec.
In a Facebook post, he said that during those days when the enemy intensified terror against the Kosovo Albanian people, the best sons and daughters of Rahovec rose up against the occupiers, sending a clear message that Albanians are determined to live freely on their land.
“The heroism of the comrades-in-arms during those July days remains unforgettable, just as their names have been immortalized: Avdullah Bugari, Hamdi Berisha, Habib Berisha, Agim Qelaj, Gani Paçarizi, Agim Kelmendi, Bujar Buzhala, Afrim Krasniqi, Sadik Shala, Ramadan Morina, Faik Rama, Gëzim Hamza, Mizair Isma, Remzi Ukshini, Liman Gegaj, Arian Brahimi, Bekim Isma, Bajram Veliu, Samir Nurkasa, Eshrefedin Kastrati, Gëzim Mullabazi, Xhafer Nurkasa, and Xhevat Kasapi.”
“Eternal glory to the martyrs of Rahovec and to all those who gave their lives for Kosovo’s freedom!” Haradinaj concluded.
