On the seventh anniversary of the formation of the Kosovo Army, former Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj recalled the decision he described as one of the most significant state-building acts of the post-war period.

He emphasized that the establishment of the Army was undertaken by the Haradinaj Government with the support and blessing of the United States of America.

“We came in peace, standing in line with the armies of peace. Seven years of courage, seven years of pride, seven years of the Kosovo Army by our side,” Haradinaj wrote.

According to him, the Kosovo Army was born from the sacrifice of the liberation war, from the blood of the martyrs, and from the legacy of those who never returned but left behind freedom and the responsibility to protect it.

“Today we have an army. Today we have a safer state. Today we have a stronger Kosovo,” Haradinaj concluded, describing the formation of the Army as a step that sealed the sovereignty and security of the Republic of Kosovo.
