The leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj, responded to yesterday’s statements by Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, who presented “conditions” to Kosovo.
In a Facebook post, Haradinaj stated that the main responsibility for the escalating situation in the north of Kosovo lies with the Serbian president. According to him, Vučić has sabotaged every initiative aimed at establishing normalcy and integrating the Serbs into Kosovo’s institutions.
“He has undermined the dialogue process for recognition. He has ordered local Serbs to abandon institutional life. He has ordered them to boycott elections. He has supported criminal groups and, influenced by Russia, has drafted scenarios to destabilize Kosovo. Therefore, his demands today are merely a continuation of his war against Kosovo,” Haradinaj wrote on Facebook.
According to him, it is painful but unfortunate that the groundwork for these anti-Kosovo actions by Serbia, which are also supported by some international circles, has been laid by Kurti’s short-sighted government policies. He argued that these policies have made Serbia’s fascist stance toward Kosovo seem not as bad.
Haradinaj concluded by stating that there is only one solution with Serbia: mutual recognition within the existing borders.
