Eman Rrahmani, who led the List for the Family in the previous elections, has decided to run on the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) list for the December 28 elections.
Rrahmani stated that the country needed political forces to unite, and he thanked PDK leader Bedri Hamza for reaching an agreement.
He was also asked about a sensitive issue related to his long-held stance on the Civil Code, which includes provisions for civil unions between same-sex partners, Klankosova.tv reports.
Responding to journalists, Rrahmani said that nothing has changed regarding his position.
“Our positions on the Civil Code are well-known. They will absolutely remain the same, but the Code needs to be passed in order to serve our citizens and our families.”
It is worth recalling that when the Code was expected to go to a vote in the Assembly, Rrahmani stated on Klan Kosova that he did not have a vote “for the destruction of the family.”
As a former MP of Vetëvendosje, Rrahmani had publicly responded to Albulena Haxhiu, the former Minister of Justice, who insisted that the Civil Code would pass.
