Kosovo’s Speaker of Parliament, Albulena Haxhiu, has expressed her support for President Vjosa Osmani’s call to vote on constitutional amendments that would allow the direct election of the President by citizens.
In a statement, Haxhiu said:
“I have just received the constitutional amendments from President Vjosa Osmani Sadriu, which provide for the President to be directly elected by the people. This will eliminate the deadlocks that have been hindering the functioning of institutions and preventing their stability. I join the President’s call for the approval of these amendments.”
This position confirms Lëvizja Vetëvendosje’s support for the constitutional reform process, aimed at increasing transparency and citizen participation in the election of the head of state.
