Albulena Haxhiu, representing the Vetëvendosje Movement, stated after her consultative meeting with President Vjosa Osmani regarding the date for local elections that Vetëvendosje’s stance is that it is “extremely important that local elections be held as soon as possible,” Ekonomia Online reports.
Haxhiu emphasized that “The sooner the local elections are held, the better.” She added, “If elections are announced tomorrow, they could be held on October 5, or October 12, or October 19. These three dates were mentioned the most.” This indicates a consensus around early to mid-October for the municipal polls.
