Kosovo Assembly Chair Albulena Haxhiu commemorated NATO’s intervention in Kosovo, emphasizing its decisive impact on the country’s history.

In a post on Facebook, Haxhiu wrote that NATO bombings over Serbian military and police targets “changed the course of Kosovo’s history.” She highlighted that the 78-day air campaign by 19 NATO countries, led by the United States, was a response to the cycle of violence and genocidal policies of the Milosevic regime against Kosovo Albanians.

“The NATO air campaign and the resistance of the Kosovo Liberation Army on the ground came together in a defining moment for Kosovo,” Haxhiu wrote. She honored the decisive role of NATO, the sacrifice of the KLA, and all who contributed to Kosovo’s freedom.

Haxhiu also expressed gratitude for the international allies who stood by Kosovo during its most difficult times.
