As the Kosovo Assembly prepares for its 51st attempt to constitute today, Vetëvendosje (VV) MP and proposed Speaker, Albulena Haxhiu, stated, “We’re waiting, we’ve sent them the offer,” when asked about a potential agreement with Fatmir Limaj’s Nisma.

Behind-the-Scenes Negotiations Continue

Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Nisma leader Fatmir Limaj met on Saturday, July 19, in an effort to find a resolution to the ongoing institutional gridlock.

During a press conference on Monday, Kurti declined to provide details about his meeting with Limaj. He indicated that he had made a direct offer but, when pressed on whether the Speaker’s post was on the table, he stated that he was awaiting further discussions before disclosing elements of their talks.

The repeated failures to constitute the Assembly have prolonged a significant political crisis in Kosovo, drawing concern from international partners.
