A serious train accident occurred on Sunday evening in Slovakia, where two trains collided head-on on the Pezinok–Bratislava railway line, leaving multiple people injured.

According to police reports posted on social media, the collision happened at 19:31, prompting an immediate emergency response to the scene.

Local media report that the REX 1814 train, traveling from Nitra to Bratislava, crashed head-on with the Ex 620 train just minutes after it had departed from Pezinok station.

Authorities have confirmed that many passengers sustained injuries, though the exact number and condition of the victims remain under investigation.

The Slovak Railways Company (ZSSK) announced that a full investigation will be conducted to determine the cause of the collision.

“We will release further details as soon as the investigation allows,” the company stated.
