An unprecedented incident has occurred in Slovenia.
Surprising but true a man in the Slovenian city of Velenje removed the head of the Josip Broz Tito statue during the night, reports RTV Slovenia.
“We condemn the act of vandalism committed last night at Tito Square, where the perpetrator damaged Tito’s monument and removed its head,” the city administration said.
They added that they will repair the 6-meter statue, created by sculptor Antun Augustinčič, as soon as possible and restore it to its original condition.
The severed head was found in the trunk of a Skoda Kodiaq owned by a 49-year-old man, who was arrested for vandalism. Mayor Peter Dermol called the act “a disgrace.”
