Heavy snow showers continue without interruption in northern Albania.
The Shkodra Police have reported that a vehicle driver became stranded on the Theth-Bogë road, requiring intervention from the road police and snowplows.
“The Road Police, in cooperation with the snowplows, assisted a driver from Saranda who had become stranded on the Theth-Bogë road. The driver had called emergency services at 112 after being unable to continue due to using summer tires. The Road Police have increased their presence on both urban and rural roads due to the adverse weather conditions, with rain and snowfall. Currently, snow is present on the following roads: Tamarë-Selcë-Vermosh, Bogë-Qafë Thorë-Theth, and Pukë-Fushë Arëz-Qafë Mali, as the snow continues to fall,” the police report stated.
Snowplows are on the ground working to clear the roads and distribute salt.
The Road Police urge all drivers to exercise caution while traveling, follow traffic signs, reduce speed, ensure their vehicles are equipped with snow chains and winter tires, and follow the instructions from the Road Police services. In case of need for assistance, call emergency services at 112.
