A large cache of weapons has been discovered by the Kosovo Police in the village of Vallaq, municipality of Zvecan. The case was confirmed to RKS News by Veton Elshani, spokesperson for the Kosovo Police in the Mitrovica region.

“After receiving information that weapons might be present at a specific location, the Kosovo Police responded and during a raid in the village of Vallaq, Zvecan municipality, we discovered a large quantity of weapons. The arms, ammunition, hand grenades, and Zolja-type rocket launchers were found buried in two underground plastic pipes,” Elshani stated.

According to Acting Minister of Internal Affairs, Xhelal Sveçla, the location where this heavy weaponry was found belongs to Aleksandar Arsenijević, a well-known Serbian politician in northern Kosovo.

During the raid, in addition to specialized Kosovo Police units, US-KFOR troops and EULEX monitoring units were also present at the scene.

This development raises serious concerns about the arming of individuals or political actors in northern Kosovo and the potential risks to regional security and institutional stability.
