The Trump administration is facing political backlash after the White House confirmed that a journalist was inadvertently added to an unsecured group chat in which U.S. national security officials were planning a military strike in Yemen.
Jeffrey Goldberg from The Atlantic magazine reported that he was added to a Signal messaging group that apparently included Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, as reported by BBC, relayed by Rks News.
He said that he had seen classified military plans for U.S. attacks against Houthi rebels, including weapon packages, targets, and timing, two hours before the bombs were dropped.
The report has caused a storm of criticism from opposition Democrats and raised concerns among some Republicans.
