A historic milestone was reached today in the municipality of Çashkë during the October 19 local elections in North Macedonia.
At a press conference, the spokesperson of the National Alliance for Integration, Arbër Ademi, announced that for the first time in the history of this municipality, an Albanian has been elected mayor.
“My fellow party members have just informed me — history has been made. For the first time, an Albanian will lead the Municipality of Çashkë,” said Ademi.
“Suat Shaqiri is now the new mayor — in Çashkë, history is written today with the election of the first Albanian mayor,” he added.
