One day ahead of Kosovo’s crucial match in Bratislava against Slovakia, German club Hoffenheim has spotlighted the “Dardanian trio” – Fisnik Asllani, Leon Avdullahu, and Albian Hajdari – in a feature article and interview on their official channels.

Hoffenheim described the three players as the “Kosovan core” of the team since August 2025, emphasizing their importance both for the Bundesliga club and for representing the small Balkan state.

“Fisnik Asllani, Leon Avdullahu, and Albian Hajdari are not only pillars of Hoffenheim but also representatives and players of the small Balkan country, Kosovo,” the club wrote at the start of the feature.

In the interview, published on Wednesday, the players discussed cultural differences between Kosovans, Swiss, and Germans. The trio laughed as they described how they differ from each other.

Hajdari explained simply:

“The Fisi is like a German, Leon is like a Swiss, and I represent the Balkans,” he said jokingly, with Avdullahu agreeing that Hajdari is indeed the louder one.

“You can hear me in the locker room, see me in my underwear joking around. Swiss or German players are more reserved. Leon is like the Swiss – calm and neutral. And Fisi is like a German, disciplined and reliable. Or, as you would say, like a German railway,” Hajdari added humorously.

The players also spoke about their career ambitions, stating their desire to represent Kosovo in the European Championship or World Cup, while also competing in the Champions League with Hoffenheim in the next season.
