The first session of the European Political Community Summit in Tirana concluded with speeches by several key European leaders, while Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama offered a warm and symbolic welcome to his guests,Rks News reports.

Referring to the traditional Albanian Kanun, Rama highlighted the deep-rooted culture of hospitality in Albania, saying: “The Albanian’s home belongs to God and the guest.” He reminded attendees that this same spirit of hospitality led Albania to protect Jewish people during World War II, offering them shelter and safety.

The Prime Minister humorously added that one of the main duties of a good host is to feed their guests well, joking: “Lunch is never free but today, it will be.” He assured that all guests would be treated with respect and kindness and expressed confidence that, after the summit, Europe would continue its path of cooperation and development.
