The US Ambassador to Kosovo, Jeffrey Hovenier, when asked whether there would be any change for Kosovo under President Donald Trump’s administration, stated that the American people’s support for Kosovo is continuous, regardless of changes in the US administration or the outcome of elections in the United States.
He emphasized that Kosovo needs to demonstrate readiness to meet the demands of its friends, including the US, and engage in the implementation of agreements reached in the dialogue with Serbia.
“The American people have consistently supported the people of Kosovo,” said Hovenier.
He assessed that Kosovo should respond to the specific requests of international partners, especially in the field of dialogue.
“I can say that I think the most important thing Kosovo can do is show its willingness to be responsible to its friends and partners, including the United States, by responding to some specific things we have asked for,” Hovenier said.
Hovenier stated that the implementation of the Brussels and Ohrid agreements is essential to strengthening relations with the US and its allies.
