In a lighthearted broadcast on Pink TV, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić appeared on the popular entertainment show Amidži Šou alongside Finance Minister Siniša Mali, actress/politician Lidija Vukićević, host Sanja Marinković, and singer Anđela Ignjatović “Breskvice.”

During the show, participants answered questions ranging from which movies made them cry, to which opposition figures they found more attractive, and even hypothetical scenarios like being trapped in an elevator with regional leaders.

However, one story shared by host Sanja Marinković captured particular attention online.

Last Friday in Copenhagen, Marinković recalled taking a taxi on her way to a formal dinner while speaking with her son. She explained she would return on Sunday for the TV recording where President Vučić would appear. At the end of the ride, the taxi driver said in English:

“Oh, ma’am, you’re from Serbia.”

When she asked how he knew, he replied:

“I know your president. When you said Vučić, I immediately knew which country you’re from.”

Marinković emphasized that it was not because Vučić was physically present, but because it was a great honor that a Copenhagen taxi driver recognized her country based on her president alone. Vučić joked that in China, only 15-20% of people would have recognized both him and Serbia.

The anecdote drew comparisons to a story shared by Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabić during her visit to Venezuela in January 2025, when a local soldier approached her on the street and said:

“Aleksandar Vučić – amigo!”

Brnabić recalled the encounter as a heartfelt moment showing Serbia’s commitment to its friends abroad.

Interestingly, both anecdotes occurred almost exactly one year apart — Brnabić’s in Caracas around 9-10 January 2025, and Marinković’s in Copenhagen on 9 January 2026.
