Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán stated on Thursday that the return of Donald Trump to the political scene represents a “civilizational shift” and has “restored hope to the world,”Rks News reports.
During his opening speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) held in Budapest, Orbán emphasized that he had predicted Trump’s victory at last year’s conference.
“And he won. Next year, there are elections in Hungary. Any other questions?” Orbán said sarcastically, according to the Hungarian news agency MTI.
The Hungarian prime minister described Trump’s return as a “tornado” sweeping across the world, adding that the former U.S. president “restored hope and peace to normal life.”
He further stated that Hungary will not allow itself to be “drowned in the sea of ‘woke’ ideology” and will not surrender to migration, calling Trump’s political comeback “the greatest comeback the West has ever seen.”
