The White House is reportedly considering a potential trilateral meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Budapest, Hungary, according to Politico.

On Monday, Trump announced that an agreement had been reached for such a high-profile summit. The U.S. Secret Service is said to be making preparations for Hungary, led by Prime Minister Viktor Orbán—an ally of Trump—to serve as the host.

While the White House has not confirmed the venue, sources indicate that Budapest is currently the preferred option.

However, differing preferences have emerged. President Putin has expressed his wish for Moscow to host the meeting, while French President Emmanuel Macron has advocated for Geneva, insisting that Europe should also play a role in the talks. Switzerland has reportedly offered “immunity” for Putin, despite the International Criminal Court’s arrest warrant against him over alleged war crimes.
