Alban Hyseni, Mayor of Gjilan, expressed deep concern over recent military exercises conducted near the border with Kosovo, close to the municipality of Gjilan.
In his statement, Hyseni described the drills as “concerning and provocative” for local citizens. He highlighted that the presence of military forces, aerial equipment, and related activities in populated areas generates unnecessary tension and insecurity, directly affecting daily life.
“As Mayor of Gjilan, I express my profound concern over these developments and call on local and international authorities to closely monitor the situation and take concrete actions to ensure security and stability in the region,” Hyseni said.
He emphasized that citizens deserve peace, security, and prospects for the future, not fear and pressure. The municipality pledged continued engagement to protect the interests and safety of its residents.
