A man from Virginia accused of making death threats against Vice President Kamala Harris appeared in federal court on Monday.
According to court records, Frank Lucio Carillo made several threats against Harris, President Joe Biden, FBI Director Christopher Wray, and various officials in Arizona.
In response to a tip-off, the FBI found 4,359 posts by Carillo “targeting various public officials,” including Harris.
In some posts, Carillo is alleged to have threatened to poke out Harris’s eyes and described various ways he wanted to kill the Vice President, according to court documents.
“I will poke your eyes out,” Carillo allegedly wrote in a post filled with obscenities, referring to Harris as a “b**ch” and stating that he hoped she would “suffer a slow and painful death.”
A number of similar posts are cited in the court records, with graphic and detailed threats against the Vice President and others, including an Islamophobic post in 2023 where he wrote that people should “go out with their weapons and kill all Muslims.”
A hearing to determine whether Carillo will remain in custody is scheduled for Thursday, CNN reports.
