Igli Tare Appointed as Sporting Director of AC Milan

Igli Tare has been officially appointed as the new Sporting Director of AC Milan, one of Italy’s most historic football clubs. The news was confirmed on Friday, May 23, 2025, by Armand Duka, President of the Albanian Football Federation.

Tare had been in talks with the Rossoneri for quite some time, but a final agreement had not been reached until now.

In a congratulatory post, Duka praised Tare’s achievement, stating:

Congratulations Igli! Your appointment as Sporting Director of AC Milan is a truly significant milestone. I firmly believe that your professionalism, dedication, and vision will help this legendary club return to the elite levels it deserves, just like in its glorious past.”

The 51-year-old Albanian brings extensive experience to the role. Tare previously served as Sporting Director at Lazio from 2008 to 2023, earning recognition for his impactful leadership and transfer strategies during his tenure in the Italian capital.

Before entering football management, Igli Tare enjoyed a high-profile playing career, including appearances for the Albanian national team.
