In Munich, Kurti Meets U.S. Senators: NATO, EU, and Dialogue with Serbia in Focus

On the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference, Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti met with U.S. Senators Jeanne Shaheen, Chris Murphy, Thom Tillis, and Ruben Gallego. He was accompanied by First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora Glauk Konjufca and Minister of Defense Ejup Maqedonci.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Kurti expressed gratitude toward the United States as Kosovo’s key ally. He highlighted Kosovo’s progress in democratic development and economic growth.

Kurti also addressed Kosovo’s Euro-Atlantic orientation, emphasizing the country’s ongoing commitment to NATO and European Union membership.

Regarding relations with Serbia, the Prime Minister stressed the importance of:

  • The handover of Milan Radoičić, the main suspect in organizing and executing the attack in Banjskë on September 24, 2023, to face justice in Kosovo;
  • The signing of the Basic Agreement;
  • The withdrawal of the letter from former Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabić, which stated that Serbia would not respect Kosovo’s territorial integrity.

The meeting underscored continued U.S. support for Kosovo’s sovereignty, security, and Euro-Atlantic integration, as well as the critical need for progress in dialogue with Serbia.
