The US Assistant Secretary of State for Europe and Eurasia, James O’Brien, also participated in the inauguration ceremony of the Kosovo Embassy in Washington.
According to the announcement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, O’Brien stated during the ceremony that the USA has been and will always be a dedicated friend and partner for Kosovo.
He said that the establishment of the embassy near the place where she started her career, would greatly please the former secretary of state, Madeleine Albright, Express reports.
“Her heart would burst with joy when she saw Kosovo like this, which she always said was the thing she was most proud of,” O’Brien was quoted as saying.
Meanwhile, Chief Diplomat Donika Gërvalla has said that the inauguration of this embassy is a powerful message, adding that Kosovo is the most pro-American country in the world.
“This commitment of our friends saved more than 100,000 lives in Kosovo and brought a different future for our entire region. Kosovo is the most pro-American country in the world, and therefore this embassy that we are inaugurating today is not only an object, but a powerful message”, declared Gërvalla.
