The Independent Media Commission (KPM) of Kosovo announced on Thursday that it has assumed the presidency of the Mediterranean Network of Regulatory Authorities (MNRA). The announcement came during the opening of the 24th Plenary Assembly of MNRA, held in Prishtina over two days, October 2–3, 2025.
“The Independent Media Commission (KPM) is honored to host the 24th Plenary Assembly of the Mediterranean Network of Regulatory Authorities (MNRA) in Prishtina,” the statement said.
Kosovo at the Center of Regional Media Dialogue
KPM Chairman Besnik Berisha received the MNRA presidency from his Armenian counterpart, Tigran Hakobyan, positioning Kosovo at the forefront of regional dialogue and cooperation in media regulation.
The assembly brings together regulatory authorities from the Mediterranean region, along with journalists, academics, psychologists, and civil society representatives, to discuss critical issues including:
- Protection of minors online
- Artificial intelligence in media
- Promotion of gender equality in media
- Combating hate speech and disinformation
Workshops and Cultural Activities
The MNRA event also features thematic workshops, debates, and cultural activities, highlighting Kosovo’s heritage and diversity while fostering collaboration across the region.
