India’s Foreign Minister, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, during his speech at the United Nations General Assembly in New York, called for an end to the conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza. He pledged India’s support for any peace initiatives and warned that the United Nations is in a “state of crisis,” urging reforms within the organization.
“During conflicts, particularly in Ukraine and Gaza, even those not directly involved have felt their impact,” Jaishankar stated.
He added that countries capable of engaging with all parties should take steps toward resolution.
“India calls for the cessation of hostilities and will support any initiative that helps restore peace,” he said.
Referring to additional tariffs imposed by the United States, Jaishankar warned that the world now faces “tariff instability and uncertain access to markets.”
He emphasized that economic concerns also include increased control over technology, supply chains, and critical minerals.
