The Special Prosecution of the Republic of Kosovo has filed two separate indictments against citizens M.M. and A.B., accused of spreading interfaith hatred and inciting intolerance through public activities and social media use.
According to the indictment submitted to the Basic Court in Pristina, M.M. allegedly used Facebook to post extremist content, calling for violence against Jews and Christians. He is also accused of sharing photos and videos of radicalized individuals, promoting propaganda similar to that of the terrorist organization ISIS.
Meanwhile, the second defendant, A.B., under the profile name “Ubejdullah Abu Suhejla”, is accused of continuously sharing content promoting religious hatred and extremist ideology from 2019 until May 22, 2025. Prosecutors say he called for the implementation of Sharia law and rejection of the democratic system and state institutions of the Republic of Kosovo.
In its official statement, the Special Prosecution stressed that the actions of the accused pose a serious threat to public order, interfaith harmony, and democratic values in the country. The institution reaffirmed its commitment to identifying, investigating, and prosecuting all forms of extremism and hate speech that harm coexistence in Kosovo.
The trial for both defendants is expected to begin in the coming weeks.
