The Special Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Kosovo has announced that it has filed an indictment against an individual, T.P., for the criminal offense of “War Crimes Against the Civilian Population.”
He is accused of taking part, in April 1999, in the killing and burning of five members of a family in the village of Cerrcë.
“According to the indictment, the defendant T.P., during the Kosovo War, in the village of Cerrcë and surrounding villages in the Istog municipality, in collaboration with other members of Serbian forces, committed murder, looting, and destruction of property belonging to Albanian civilians. In April 1999, T.P. is accused of participating in the killing of five members of a family. The victims K.R., Z.R., R.R., I.R., and Sh.R., under the threat of weapons, were forced to leave their home and were placed in another house, where they were subsequently killed. According to the indictment, the house, along with the bodies of the victims, was set on fire,” the Special Prosecutor’s Office statement reads.
The statement also notes that the defendant T.P., together with other members of Serbian forces, is accused of stealing movable property and then setting fire to houses in the villages of this municipality.
