The Institute of Forensic Medicine (IML) has confirmed that the autopsy for Agon Zejnullahu, who died yesterday after his arrest by police in Lipjan, was conducted yesterday. However, the IML stated that the final autopsy report has not yet been drafted, refuting earlier media reports of a preliminary report.

No Preliminary Report Issued

“Upon order from the State Prosecutor, the autopsy for the deceased Agon Zejnullahu was performed yesterday at the Institute of Forensic Medicine (IML),” the IML announced. “The autopsy was conducted by a team led by the on-duty forensic medical expert and with the participation of police officials assigned by the Kosovo Police. We have seen news today on various portals claiming that a preliminary report for the case in question has been released. With moral and professional responsibility, we declare that no such report has been issued by the IML, and this news is therefore untrue.

Maximal Efforts for Histopathological and Toxicological Analysis

The IML further stated that they are making maximal efforts to quickly complete the histopathological and toxicological analysis of tissue samples taken during the autopsy. This expedited analysis is crucial for the swift drafting of the full autopsy report.

“We are in constant contact with the State Prosecutor handling the case and are making maximal efforts to quickly complete the histopathological and toxicological analysis of tissue samples taken during the autopsy, so that the autopsy report can be drafted as soon as possible,” the IML emphasized. “The IML is committed to its legal mandate to provide forensic medical expertise for the justice organs and the citizens of Kosovo.”
