Thousands of citizens — including Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) veterans and supporters from across Albania and Kosovo — gathered peacefully this Friday in Skanderbeg Square to protest against the Special Court in The Hague.

The protest, held on October 17 in the heart of the Albanian capital, attracted wide international media attention, with outlets such as Associated Press, The Washington Post, The Telegraph, and Anadolu Agency reporting on the demonstrators’ calls for justice and their opposition to what they described as “unfair trials” against former KLA leaders.

Through banners, chants, and public speeches, protesters expressed their unwavering support for the former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army, who are currently facing trial in The Hague. Many described the process as biased and politically motivated, demanding fairness and recognition of the KLA’s role in Kosovo’s liberation.
