Bajram Begaj, President of Albania, marked International Mother Language Day today with a message highlighting the importance of preserving and nurturing the Albanian language.
In a Facebook post, President Begaj emphasized that the Albanian language should be cherished, safeguarded, and passed down from generation to generation.
“Let us love it, protect it, pass it on from generation to generation, and speak our mother tongue beautifully! Thank you for this video message to the students and teachers of the 9-year school ‘Selim Alliu’ in Peshkopi, which is also the current winner of the National Albanian Language Competition!” the Albanian president wrote.
The message also acknowledged the contribution of students and teachers from the 9-year school Selim Alliu in Peshkopi, recognizing their achievement in promoting and preserving the Albanian language.
