The Albanian Parliament rejected an interpelance requested by the opposition targeting Prime Minister Edi Rama and the expedited adoption of a bill aimed at mitigating rising fuel costs.

The ruling majority argued that proposals must be presented and negotiated properly, criticizing the opposition for attempting to push measures “by force or pressure.” Opposition deputies raised concerns over a lack of transparency in the EU integration process, noting that in the current legislature, all 23 EU alignment laws passed without any support from the Democratic Party.

Despite the failed interpelance, the Parliament approved a motion to debate EU integration. Other deputies requested interpelances with ministers in health and agriculture.
